  Welcome to Nevada Psychologist.com

Mental health is a very important component of our overall well-being. Sometimes people are stressed, troubled or simply not themselves. When these psychological disturbances interfere with our daily activities, psychologists begin to inquire what it is that makes you feel or act in that particular way.

Common conditions treated with psychological help

Acute stress syndrome

Acute stress disorders can be caused by a single event or experience involving threatening or actual death situations, serious injury or any kind of physical violation. The disorder usually develops within one month after the event to which the individual responds with feelings of fear, horror or helplessness.

Autism

Autism is a brain disorder affecting the ability to merge stimuli intakes and the communications with others. While certain autistic people can be fully functioning, others may experience mental retardation, language delays, repetitive behavior or even total muteness. Autistic people can appear remote and indifferent and they will most likely have difficulties with the formation of emotional bonds.

Depression

Depression is a very common pervasive and impairing illness. Sadness or emptiness, feelings of hopelessness and pessimism are characteristics of the disorder. Usually there are also physical symptoms that accompany depression which are more difficult to improve than the disease itself. The main types of depression include major depression, dysthymia and manic depression and the difference lies in the number and severity of the symptoms experienced.
